Interest Groups



MOMS Interest Groups and Opportunities 2017-2018

Journal Group – A very special small group of MOMS members that meets weekly for 6 weeks to explore their inner selves and faith. Groups form in the fall and spring and may be held in the morning or evenings, depending on need.  Journal Groups will begin in the Fall.  Contact Jenny Hogan or Stacey Barsa at

Outreach (Nurturing Place) – Located in Jersey City, this is a home and school for mothers requiring assistance. Donations of food, supplies and money are collected throughout the year. Events are also held to raise funds. Drivers are needed to transport donations monthly. A Fundraiser cocktail party will be held on Friday evening September 29th at the home of Erin O’Halloran. Reservations Club – Group of approx. 8 members that will meet monthly for dinner at a local restaurant. Reservations first dinner out will be Thursday, October 5th at Amano.  Contact Rachel Higgins or Liz Henky at

Recipe Club – Group of approx. 8 members that will meet monthly to share a meal in a member’s home. Each member cooks a course that is shared by all! Recipes first gathering will be a brunch on Tuesday, October 3th at the home of Carol Stewart.  Contact Linda Granert, Carol Stewart, or Gina Harnett at

Coffee & Kids – An opportunity to meet other MOMS members with young children in a member’s home or local playground. Meetings locations will vary, but may include the Ridgewood Library or Duck Pond. Coffee and Kids meetings will take place in both the morning and afternoon. Coffee & Kids will have their first meet and greet in the Parish Center on  Wednesday, September 27th  at 9:15 AM. Tennis – Tennis drills with professionals at the Ridgewood Racquet Club with other MOMS members. All levels of play for fall and spring sessions. Childcare is available. Contact Kelly Gazzini at

Book Club – Join other moms in reading and discussing a variety of popular titles. Meetings will take place at someone’s home either in the morning or in the evening.  Contact Teresa DiDomenico at or Karyn Erb at

Rosary – A group of MOMS who meet once a month and every week throughout Advent and Lent to pray the rosary together in a member’s home. The first rosary session will be Friday, September 22nd  at 9:30 AM outside of the Mother Mary statue at OLMC. Contact Stephanie Budleman



Mothers of Adult Children – A group of Moms and Alumni MOMs who will meet and discuss our young adult children’s transition from roots to wings as they leave the nest.  Also support and exchange ideas of how to keep our family spiritually and globally connected.  As our children marry, how we can create future Catholic traditions with the next generations. Family Service Day – Participate in a fun filled day where we will work with our families on a community-based service project. Contact Marleni Noble at


Sharing and Learning Together (SALT) – Is a newly formed interest group. We will come together to share our experiences as mothers and as individuals to learn from each other while growing in our faith. The pilot group will meet weekly for five weeks on Friday mornings during January and February. There is a sign-up sheet at their table if you are interested in joining this newly formed group. Volunteer Opportunities

Circle of Care/SHARE Meals – Volunteer to make a meal or help another MOMs member who is in need. Sign up to be placed on the email list for opportunities to help. Contact Beth Pfeil at

Parish Block Party – MOMS members donate their time to add to the excitement of the block party held September 17th 1:30-5:00PM.  Volunteers are needed for spin art, tattoos, and snow cone booths. This is a very fun day for all! Volunteers are always needed- moms, husbands and children. Contact Erin O’Halloran at or Jessica Warta at

Baptismal Hospitality/MOMS Masses - Moms members participate as readers, Eucharistic ministers, gift bearers and hosts for MOMS masses throughout year. Volunteers also help after 9:30am masses (bi-monthly) by setting up and providing breakfast food for newly baptized families.  Please contact Mary Allison at or Stacey Barsa at

Advent Dinner – A potluck meal that occurs on the first Sunday of Advent for MOMS members and their families. It includes children’s crafts, songs, and an Advent wreath for each family to take home.  Volunteers are always needed! Meatless Dinner – A potluck meatless dinner that occurs on Ash Wednesday for MOMS members and their families. Children’s crafts and a prayer service is held in the parish center following mass. May Brunch – An intimate and special morning beginning with a mass with Fr. Ron especially for MOMS members and followed by a brunch in the parish center to celebrate a year of MOMS and Mother’s Day.
